Whats up everybody. Just bought a 2000 4runner with 72,000 miles. Of course as soon as I drove it off the lot I encountered my first problem. It makes a loud squealing noise, almost like a metal to metal sound. I figured out that it only will do it when there is someone in the back seat. I Did some investigating and I'm almost positive the driveshaft u-joint is rubbing on the tail housing.
I know that the dealer I bought it from had to install a new drive shaft because the previous owners had installed some type of disconnect for towing. So my question is, why is it doing this? Should I take it back to the dealer? I've already done it once and of course they say they cant do anything about it because they couldnt hear anything. I'd rather save myself the gas and figure this out myself.
