Thanks for having such an epic community of 4Runner owners and enthusiasts! I'm still awash in the various threads and posts trying to read as much as I can as fast as I can, but figured I should probably say hello...
My wife and I just picked up our first 4Runner, a brand-spankin' new Magnetic Gray Metallic 2014 Trail Premium with KDSS. I used to own a Taco (2008 TRD Offroad) and I absolutely loved that truck, selling it was a horrible, horrible decision that maybe someday over a campfire and a lot of beer I'll open up about
We'd been talking about getting a truck (she had a lifted Ford 250 v10 monster) because there were so many things we've wanted to do out in the country in our beautiful state (CA) and nation, but just didn't have the wheels for. We ended up with a 4Runner almost on a whim, while looking at Highlanders (too mini-van-ish) and Tacomas (too small inside for her taste), and we couldn't be happier!
The only thing I'm a little bummed about is that the Entune suite needs to apparently be updated to show my Pandora, FB, Fuel, etc. apps on the touchscreen, and I've got some NFAB nerfbars on order since my wife's a shorty and likes the look and function of having something to step up into. Her only complaint is no keyless rear hatch "popper" for hands-free rear hatch opening, but I'm wondering if maybe I can rig something up with the existing solanoid (anyone have any ideas/experience with this? I'm still reading through the forum to try to find an answer on my own but figured it can't hurt to ask)...
