Picked up an 87 4runner and want to lift her at least 4inches, to get some nice 35's under her. Any ideas or best ways to do so? ive only dealt with the 3rd generation 4runners owned 2 previously so any ideas would be helpfull. :nerd:

Just so happens there is a Sticky at the top of the Classics forum that addresses this specific issue.

What is your gearing? 4" lift on 35's would require at least 4.88.

There's a lot of ways to do it, depends on your goals.
2" BJ spacers in front, and 2" lift shackles or AAL's in the rear, plus a 2" BL, is an easy and inexpensive way to do it.
Or one of the 4"+ suspension/bracket lifts.
If you want it for hard core wheeling, you can always swap in a solid axle up front and new leaf packs in the rear.
If you search a bit you'll find plenty of stuff on the market.

I think if that was the case, this thread wouldnt exist.

If you really want cheap, get a 3" body lift and trim the fenders a bit.

Wheres that sawzall pic....
