New to forum looking for advice

Hey ,, Ive been loving 4 runners since as long as I can remember and I have owned 2. I currently own a 2000 toyota 4 runner limited silver 2wd. Although I love the truck, I really want to get a 4wd one. (I thought about a conversion but it seemed to difficult, not worht it) The one I really like is the 96-2002 models, not too crazy about the new body style, although Id consider one, if parts are easier to get for after market stuff or if there is any specific reason that the new ones are better. I really like the gray charcoal color, and I want an 02 4wd with the hood scoop. then I want to start building it up as a 4 x 4 with lift kit, tires, and engine mods. Maybe I can find one that already has upgrades. I saw one on craigslist last week that had tons up upgrades, but was a bit beat up. I just want to learn more about 4 x 4 and more about the mechanical aspects and customization.

Thanks for the info,, ive been doing some reading and I am starting to gravitate towards the classic 4 runners, I found a 93 on ebay

Is this a good buy? any pros, cons over buying a 3rd or 4th gen?

Go through the buyers guide- its basically personal perference and also will depend on what you really wanna do with it. I dont know much about the 4th gen outside of the obvious body change and the 4.0 v6 change. Post up in the perspective sections and see what info you get.
