looking to buy a 2006 w 140k on the clock.
The pricing is "just ok" and I can find some newer, similar mileage for same money.
I'm not in love with the exterior (sandstone) and it hasnt been really well maintained from an appearance perspective... despite faded paint, few dents/dings, there is nothing too seriously wrong with it except some spiderwebbing on the bumper where it obviously hit something.
You gotta be thinking it's a hard no at this point.
Well... there isn't a lick of rust on it, despite it being a wisconsin vehicle, and it appears to have been absolutely meticulously maintained. That or the PO was extremely lucky.
It has new cv axles, new bushings, suspension appears to have been cared for (but not new), new tires, fresh fluids (brake, steering, coolant, diff), meticulously clean engine bay, new brakes & calipers on all four corners... literally the cleanest vehicle I've ever seen, maintenance wise... I've been looking for a month and I feel like I found a unicorn. There is only a small amount of seep at the xfer case and at the intake manifold.
Original headlights, clean/straight radiator, etc. Original tailgate, tail lights.
Engine runs quiet, there are no weird noises. Drives just like you'd want it to. Looking at it from a pure mechanical perspective, it seems near (too) perfect for a 14 yo vehicle.
I feel like something is up and I'm not in love with the deal. If i saved money on another car, I don't think it'll be in the condition that this one is in. I've not encountered anything remotely close (and I'm getting tired of looking). That said, its probably not too unreasonable AND it has near new of everything I had issues with on my previous 4runner and gx470 (which was a huge disaster and I'm looking forward to not being on my back in the driveway.
Should I just suck it up and pull the trigger on this thing?
What should I look for beyond what I already mentioned?
