New To Me 2007 SR5 - Just Installed the Lift

Ya, they are Cooper. Not a mistake. Just Google "255/75/R17 Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx tires" they come right up.

Do you get any rub with those wheels/tires on the 2.5" setting and 1.5" rear spacer on fj springs? and did you take any before and after measurements? sorry for all of the questions I just love the way this looks and will most likely do the same thing since I already have the fj springs.

No rubbing at all. I did not end up taking measurements. Intended to but never did. It has settled out nicely. Still maintains a little forward rake, though its pretty much level with a little gear in the back and a tank of gas.

sounds good! Hopefully I can get this done in the next few weeks. Minus the wheels and tires until I can afford them :nono:

and did you have any uca or cv problems?
and when was there any trouble getting it aligned?

CV angles are good. Getting aftermarket UCA's would help with the alignment spec. I did not go that route and they were able to get it into an acceptable range. It rides well, no pull.

Sweet ride, Man!

So "acceptable range" on the alignment??? What exactly? Or put another way, how far out on your caster are you?

I've read of people having the alignment techs max out the caster and then dial in the toe and camber, but don't know how well that really describes the correct process for getting the caster as close to spec as poss. Seems that it all depends on how good the tech is who does the job.

I'm gonna do something really similar. I've pretty much decided to go with the 1.75 setting on my 5100's, and I'm pretty set on going w/ 265/70/17, probably with Firestone Destination A/T's I had those on my f150 when I sold it and I really liked them, my shop had a special on them too at the time. I've also got my FJ springs and 1.5 daystar spacer for the rears. I went ahead and ordered new top mounting hardware so I can have the front coils pre-assembled before I install. I'll be all by my lonesome when I do it.

Your CV angles are good you report... how about any leaks from the boots? I notice its a mixed bag with CVs and boots. Some get leaks and problems, some not. Always hard to tell how many other issues are/were present b/4 the lifts and subsequent problems which could be contributing (like, maybe leaks were getting ready to develop anyway, then a lift gets installed and gets blamed for the leak...).

Anyway, nice ride! I'd be interested to hear how things hold up as you get more miles on the setup...

Take care.

You should take off your running boards! It's not lifted enough to where you'll really need them and it makes your rig look 1.5" 2.0" taller!! I took them off and was hesitant at first but I promise you'll like it! Plus it's free and if you don't throw me back on! 15 minute job!

I just did the exact same lift on 07 sr5 yesterday. 2012 FJ components tho. Took it down some logging roads yesterday and loved the feel. Couldn't be any happier with the look and feel. drove it for one night took it in for the alignment then had to take off the running boards.

Not 100% sure on exactly what they did to get it into a range that was "acceptable" I have the sheet with all the specs but hell if I know or care to know what any of that means. I talked to my mechanic about it (he specialized in allignments for about 20 years prior to coming to run this particular shop) and he explained to me what they did and gave me a tire rotation pattern to follow and said it should be all set. Rides well, not pulling to either side.
CV angles are good but I do have boot leaks on both sides. Small clamp is loose on both right and left. I am going to order the rounded marine grade clamps and take care of that this week. Should be a pretty quick job.

MEasurements Are:
Total Toe: +.08
Caster: +1.51 and +1.13 .38degress

There are more on there if you need them just let me know. Note: one important bolt that is involved in the allignment was totally frozen and they worked around that giving both my front wheels a slight angle (not visable with the naked eye) - hence the rotatational pattern reccomendation.

Sorry to be a pain but would you mind posting a link to where or what type of clamps youre purchasing. I'm about to do the exact same and wiuld like to correct all of the problems at once

Congrats on the rig! Love the wheels too!
One note to think about. Depending on your driving style and off road needs, I found the 1.5 daystar spacers gave me the look and lift I needed, but found the factory rear springs were lacking. The ride with the factory rear springs gave me the feeling of swaying and whallowing around on the freeway. It was worse with a load. I switched to the OME rear springs and the truck really is now perfect in every way. The ride on and off road is excellent. The truck doesnt sag when I have four passengers, coolers, off road gear ect. No more wandering around on the freeway. The rear doesnt bottom out over every little bump off road when full of gear.

I run my truck hard and fast often here in the desert southwest. With my current combination, alignment is good, cv angles are fine, no rubbing with the wheel spacers, the front Bilsteins set at max lift, rear OME 2" springs and Bilsteins. This vehicle does awesome on slow crawling, performs well on fast fire roads with medium bumps, rollers and dips. I do plan on upgrading the front springs to a slightly heavier spring rate, as the front suspension cant keep up with the rear. Needs more spring rate.

My clamps come in today but I will be out of town so I'm doing the whole lift this weekend. Did you ever get a chance to put the clamps on to see if they solved the problem?

Trying to find the time. Likley tomorrow/wednesday. I want to get a needle fitting for my grease gun so I can refill them properly before clamping them up.
