New to me 3rd Gen Tranny Questions

Hola,

Searched the threads, and since it's a little hard to describe what I'm feeling/hearing, I didn't find anything. I thought I'd ask, sorry if I missed someone already covering this but:

With any new ride, I'm always looking out for potential issues. I've ordered parts for the LBJ and OTE and I'm doing that this weekend.

Sometimes when coming to a stop, I feel something in the transmission "letting go". There's no noise, just a feeling like the car is being pushed forward slightly and then that pressure let's go. It's pretty distinct. My foot is on the brake so it doesn't seem like the calipers. Tranny mounts? Yoke?

Also, under harder acceleration, at the higher revs, it almost feels like the car is buzzing slightly. Normal?

Fluid looks good and red, at the appropriate level. Carfax showed fluid changes at regular intervals. Seems to shift fine, but my other cars are a manual and a DSG, so hard to compare.

Dude, the slip yoke on your rear propeller shaft is binding. Very common issue with our rigs. As you come to a stop, the suspension compresses pushing the slip yoke in further on the shaft. Then, because the splines are not lubricated enough, the female yoke binds on the male shaft. When it becomes unbound, you can feel a thump or bump. When it's really bad, it feels like somebody has rear-ended you.

In my opinion, the problem arises because the zerk fitting does a poor job of lubricating the splines, mainly the upper splines. The best way I've found to lubricate it and reduce the binding is to take off the slip yoke and manually lubricate it.

Its hard to say what you mean by buzzing. the engine is spinning pretty good and it could be vibrating something like a body panel or under engine skid plate / exhaust cat cover.
