I picked up a '98 4runner (auto 4x4 sr5 V6) last weekend with 220k on the clock.
I was spending enough time here just before I found this one and a lot of time here since I bought it so I thought I would join and introduce myself.
For off road plans, I do not do much wheeling, just some two track with a few decent ledges and off camber situations to navigate.
Plans for the runner...
Full fluid flush
New UBJs and LBJs
Axle/diff/wheel bearing/hub servicing
Fresh paint on hood
Seat covers to avoid the world of foam crumbles I'm living in now
3" rough country lift ordered yesterday
285/75/16 ATs for an expected 85% on road and 15% off road use
Bumpers (front with winch and rear with tire carrier)
2nd battery
on-board air and tank
extra power points and lighting off the 2nd battery
Remove running boards and add sliders
Still reading a lot on the forum looking into common mods and frequent issues to do some preventative maintenance.
