Here i go again, after going two yers without a project I finally gave in to the fever.
little past history, I have had 1- 79, 1-80 toyota, 1-92 4x4 truck, 1-86, 1-87 4runner.
Well I found a true two owner gen 1 4runner, this unit has been gently owned and meticulously maintained. but it does show its age, some rust, dents, wore out seats. the worst of the rust is located in the front mounting area of the top and rear mounting area of the top. floor solid, frame solid, had dented drivers door and fender. already replaced those. The truck was white with white top 2nd owner followed the lower body lines and painted it black along with the top. vinyl floor mats are in great shop,dash is good no cracks, has a minor 2" lift with rancho shocks.
I begin the transformation in the morning, I will start to beat and bang dents smooth sand and prep for paint. I am not looking for a complete restore, so i am going to what I have done in the past and paint it with flat desert sand colored paint and accent with flat black top, bumpers, emblems. grill. I have found a complete set offset 8 factory SR5 wheels for 150.00, these wil go on with 31" or 32" 10.50 tires. What i cannot seem to find is interior parts, I need the right rear panel with the access door and a new head liner,I also need to find the two metal -panels the go around the side windows on the top. I will stat taking pictures the top is already off so?
It has 297000 miles and runs great!
