I just bought a 97 4runner for $1500 needs a little work front bumper is beat up rear bumper is rusted, interior is pretty beat up, but for $1500 I can't complain.
I plan on putting a nice stereo in it, already have the amps and sub from my previous car. Get some nicer wheels I think the ones on it are ugly. probably get some fog lights and mount them on the bumper, some HID's, I have a roof basket I'm gonna put on, probably some other little things, gonna try and keep this one simple.
