This is my first post on the boardd and have some questions. I have a Tahoe that I am going to be looking to sell soon and get a 3rd generation 4R instead. I have never had one but just know that when I go to buy one, are there any common problems/troubleshooting items I should look for that maybe Fourrunners are notoriously known for or anything of that nature? I love the Limited model and will be getting a 4WD

Check to see when the timing belt was done, rear axel seals, and the water pump (normally done with the timing belt).

some rust on the rear chrome bumpers, get under the car and look at the back side

that gas gauge is no big deal
3rd gens are notorious for incorrect fuel gauge reading-an inconvenience item but nothing serious....

To go along with this: The clock does not work in a lot of 4runners. Not a big issue, but it is annoying.
