New to T4R

Hey there,

Just bought my FIRST toyota about 2 weeks ago, a 91 SR5 4WD v6 auto... and now I see what all the buzz is about. These things are a blast to drive... and with the price of gas what it is today, they don't to too bad.
I'll have to get some pics of it posted tomorrow. It was filthy when I brought it home, but since my brother works in a dealer detail shop, that night I was ready for cruisin'.
I couldn't go wrong with the down payment of $300 and 7 weekly payments of $100. It DOES have it's tics, but nothing I can't work on while it gets me back and forth.
I've already read up on the power antenna fix, and shifting difficulties... this place is a wealth of Toyota knowledge and I'm very glad I found it.

While it's nowhere near new, it's new to ME! Personally I think it's a beautiful thing, and a pretty good deal for only $300 dn.

This is my first attempt at posting pics so hopefully this will work ok.

I love my Yota!

When I can get the shifting issue resolved, I'll be taking her offroading near a friends place in the mountains. I'm dying to take her creek-running. Many are around here and I can't wait to get her 'feet wet'. :biggrin2:

nice one mate! here in Australia i wouldnt get a 4x4 in that colour, only silver or white for me!! otherwise gets too hot and the scratches are way more visible... i wish i could get a black/dark green one though!!

and yeah i know the feeling, its not a new car but feels new anyways!! haha my 4runner is my first 4x4 and is way better than my old car, novelty of the power windows and high ride havent worn off yet!!

Thanks guys. It DOES have it's little problems that will need attention before I can focus on lifting it, tires & wheels, etc, but so far she seems to be a good'n considering the miles on her, and I love her already. Isn't it funny how we can get so attacted to a vehicle?
My first 'true love' was a 1977 olds cutlass that I built a sweet 403 ci motor for and had lots of goodies... and I would have never thought I'd be so partial to a 4runner, but I most certainly AM!

I've been 'mechanically inclined' since I was a teen, but I've never owned anything as new as this T4R. Sad yes, I know. lol In the future I'm thinking of a repaint, and since I've had a knack for airbrushing for some time, I'm thinking of covering her in ghost flames, adding a decent lift and maybe a set of 33x10.5x15 mudders. I can see it already!:biggrin2:

Naturally since I've an affinity for music and bass guitar, an awesome sound system is a must. I recently purchased a Kenwood KDC-3025, as well as a Kenwood KGC-9044 pre-amp w/ 4v pre-outs that I'm hoping will both fit together in the dash. The stereo I got on ebay for believe it or not, $22 plus shipping, and has tested perfect. I've got more amps than camels have fleas, an Orion HCCA 225 cheater, 2 Kenwood 2 ch 1000's, a 2ch Kenwood 600, and a Memphis 400/4, a unique set of Kenwood 'components', as well as a set of Orion 5.25 components. All I need now is the Lanzar 12" (or maybe 15's, not sure yet) subs and a box to put them in, then if I run out of gas, I can just crank it up and bounce my way to work... lol
But that's all in the near future, as getting the mechanical bugs of a 199,000 mile 4R demand my attention first.
