New to the 4 runner community

Hi. I found this place by googling info on 4 runners. I am about to purchase a 1995 4 runner.

A family friend owns it and they managed to screw up the transmission. When they did, they just parked it in their yard and let it sit for the past year. So I'm going to get a fun and repairable trail vehicle for 200 bucks.

Anyway I am not new to message boards, I moderate over at LS2.com, but it's hard to learn about 4runners on a board devoted to GM performance. :biggrin2:

So I'll be lurking and reading. I know it has a bit of a lift kit, but I don't know how much and the quality. Also where can I find interior pieces like door panels?

yeah I've thought about that but I was hoping to find some that looked nice. The local yota parts department said they could order them with my VIN but that I was looking at 300 bucks plus per door.

Try yotatech.com. That site is more dedicated to mods and offroading of older gen 4runners. This site seems to be geared more toward 4th gen, although very good information exists here for older gen trucks. Yotatech also has a great classified section, people parting out and stuff like that. Try that for your door panels and such.

I learned more about the truck today. It is a 3rd gen v6 with a 5 speed manual transmission. I didn't know you could get a manual with the V6, but they told me it was a V6.

The good thing is it is definately a 4x4. :bigok:

I'm hoping to trailer it home this weekend. :awais:
