Hey all. I am actually a pround owner of a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. I actually joined this board because my father owns a 1999 4Runner SR5 2wd and I am presently trying to fix it up and all.

Unfortunetally my father was diagnosed with Cancer about 2 1/2 years ago and he has not taken care of his pride and joy because of the cancer. Till about 3 months ago my father was moving all over the place because he has a rare form of cancer that there is no cure for yet and he had to go where the Dr's were at, but now he resides about 25 mins away from me here in Florida so now i can help him with fixing it.

Well I have put my nose to the grind to get his 4Runner to where he wants it. He tells me he loves the wheels he's seen on 4Runner's in Vermont and Texas. I am presently in search of some OEM wheels that will fit. We really like the FJ Cruiser Wheels and I wonder if they will fit? We also like he 03-05 4Runner 17" wheels and I seen someone on here that has them so now I know those will work.

So I joined here to get some ideas and knowledge on how to freshen up his 4runner. Right now I need to replace a lot since the north did a lot of damage to it. His 4Runner has 89,000 miles on it. I have currently replaced the spark plugs and wires, pcv valve, air filter, and have purchased all new front brakes and rear shoes, all timing belt items, and new Bilstein HD shocks front and rear.

I still need to purchase a new rear bumper(rusted through), new front calipers(very bad rust) and new wheels(bad corosion).

So any ideas you have for me will be taken into great condsideration. :biggrin2:

sorry to hear that about your father.. Hope everything works out
about the wheels.. I assume you have the 15 inch wheels that are on most base models? or do you have the 16s now? Could do a tundra brake upgrade to work with some 17s but they will fit as long as you get the right backspaced wheel and what not.

I have seen FJ wheels on a 4runner as well as the new tacoma and 4runner wheels so its not a problem fitting those on.

yes it has the 15" wheels on it. I actually need to replace the front calipers because they are so rusted i cannot get the pins out.

Also I would need to upgrade the calipers to do a 17" wheel? What do people do that put 20"+ wheels on. I was wondering when i got all the parts why they asked if it had 15" or 16" wheels

Welcome to the boards. I hope you can find answers to your questions and ears for your problems both inside automotive issues and with the seriousness of life.
