Whats up all? Name is James, Im active duty military and looking to get into the 4 runner community. My wife and I have been looking and talking about this for several months. We have been back and forth between trucks, ext cab, 4 doors and maybe a 4 runner. We have decided that the 4 runner would be the best and most fun for us. Coolest part of all of it, she likes the idea of lift and all the other cool stuff!!!!!! She even wants a 5 speed! Even better she wants to do all the work when I get it not wait and do bits and pieces. Cost is going to be the issue. I think I may have somewhere around 5k to work with.
Our plan will be to use the vehicle, not have it for an Urban Assault Vehicle, like the majority of the SoCal wannabes.
My ideas... Ive been looking at the toytech lift @3" with a 1"bl with that, Id like to run somewhere @35" tires. I was going to do the HD springs front and rear for the weight, bilstein adjustable shocks, Im keeping the stock wheels on there. I want to replace what is needed, i.e., bushings, cv boots... Im undecided on the deckplate mod vs the CAI, I would like to buy the e locker?? Armor also, skids and sliders, bumpers aren't a priority up front.
Im looking forward to getting to know some of you guys and getting some pics of a build going!!!
