New to the Forum and need some help please!

Hey everyone! New to the forum, and am in need of some help. I tried to search for the subject, but couldn't find what I needed, and I'm probably beating a dead horse as well, so sorry for this if I am. I have an 05 limited 4WD and it's emmitting the infamous sulfer smell, and am really tired of it. I have an arbitration meeting next week, and am trying to find what I can do (best way to argue/strategy) to get Toyota to buy the vehicle back from me. I meet all NC lemon laws (I've taken the vehicle in four times, with having the TSB performed twice, and the other two saying there is no problem; less than 24 months/24 thousand miles). I've also contacted a lawyer, and she's ready and willing to take this to the next level, but would like to do this the easy way, and not having to spend that much money. Toyota just says it's the sulfer in the gas, but if this was the case everyone would be complaining, and I can't find any more service bullitins or recalls for any other manufacturer for this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have not read of anyone who has lemon lawed because of the sulfur smell.


I have 13k miles and been using fuel treatment (FP 60).

The smell has been gone for a few months. No TSB done.

I've tried Chrevron fuel treatment with little success. How often do you put in the FP 60?

Every tank. It took about 4000 miles before it went away. The sulfur smell became more ammonia like, then gone.

I didn't buy it to get rid of the sulfur smell. But it was a benefit.

Thanks for the advice. I've been told by the lawyer that a smell is a defect, therefore can be taken to court under the lemon law. If it doesn't work out, I'll definately try this option.
