New to us 4Rnr

Today I gave a 05 SR5 4Rnr to my wife for her 50th birthday. To say she was pleased would be a huge understatement. The Rnr has 200,000 kms on it, 4.0L, and is very clean, even has new Michelin's. I'm sorta jealous actually, have to restrain myself with regards to all the after market goodies it could so easily be pimped out with. This thing has been driving me nuts since the end of Jan when I bought it. Very difficult keeping it a secret to surprise her, but it was all worth it! The amount of information on this site is astounding, and was a big factor in my purchase decision. Thanks to all the contributors on here.

Took it out for a 200 km drive today. Just secondary roads, but its a very impressive machine. When we got back home I started poking around, under hood, lowered the spare, generally just being nosy. Nicely built! Got quite the surprise when I removed the cabin air filter, it was probably the original filter, looked more like a felt mat than a filter YUCH! Adjusted all 5 tire pressures but still have a TPMS light, will eventually check the batteries in each sender unit.
So far I'm happy with everything I've looked at, wifey should stay happy with this thing for a long time.
Now to convince her of the necessities of an aftermarket front and rear bumper with tire carrier and winch etc.

Here is how u convince her to agree to upgrades. Are u ready..? Safety! It's all in the name of safety. Heavy-duty bumpers will protect u and ur investment from sliding cars on icy roads. A winch can get u out of a ditch should slide off the road. A lift kit and larger tires will enable u to more easily traverse difficult terrain. Lockers will give u superior traction in adverse conditions... See it's gonna be a piece of cake! I'm sure some other members have some tips to offer. Good luck! :thumb3:
