New Toy

Thought I'd post up a shot of my 88 FJ62 that I just got a couple months ago. Not sure what's in store for it yet, but I'm leaning towards restoring it and keeping her as a classic.

congrats, thats a great looking FJ62. I really want one. I am always torn between the 5pd in the FJ60 and the fuel injected FJ62. Either way, I think that was one of the best looking Toyotas ever made. Simply a classic

Thanks! this is the only pic i have for now, though. It was just a quick snapshot i took with my camera phone in front of my office. I'll probably be hittin some trails as soon as I replace my axle seals so i'll be sure to take some more pictures then.

What part of CA are you in? i've been wanting to go have some fun w/ the 4runner, but am new to the whole offroad thing and still pretty new to CA as well.

I'm having trouble seeing it. Could you please make the picture bigger! :biggrin2:

haha. didn't know the pic would turn out out til i posted it. Didn't want to go through the hastle of resizing. Already had to drop the quality to get it on the thread.

I'm from the LA area, you?

I've been wanting to as well, but the two things holding me back were that my 4runner's not 4WD and none of my buddies are into wheeling. But yeah, it would be cool to round some people up for a little trail run sometime. Gotta get a little work done to the landcruiser first, before I feel safe taking it off-road though.

rancho cucamonga area, so not far from LA. Most i've done w/ my 4runner is some fire roads in the mountains.... while it was entertaining, i would like something w/ a bit of a challenge. As far as getting the vehicle prepped ... what do you need to do?

My axle seals need to be replaced, so i have to do a knuckle rebuild, and I want to replace my brake lines with steel braided ones. I also want to get a diagnostic done, to see what else might need to be done. The car's in great shape and it's got really low miles considering its age, but it's a 20 year old car, so I just want to make sure everything's mechanically sound before I put it through any kind of abuse.
