I just stopped by the Toyota dealer and had few minutes to look at the new Sequoia. It looked pretty impressive for that type of vehicle but I was really surprised with the price. The cheapest model is $39K. It goes all the way to $62K. The new Land Cruiser is $71K. Is it me or are you also wandering how they are selling cars with those prices? I have not looked at any new cars for a long time so maybe that's why it's surprising to me.

I agree it is very disturbing. I haven't bought a new car in years either, but am blown away by what people are willing to shell out for vehicles these days. Seems a 45k vehicle is 'standard'.
I see so many 50k+ hummers on the road tricked out with another 10k in chromed and otherwise ridiculous accessories it's a mind boggling. I used to think Dodge Vipers were for the wealthy, but they go used for a 'mere' 45k now, which is way cheaper than many full size luxury SUV's as you pointed out with the Sequoia and Land Rover.

On the other hand, you can always get Chevy Equinox LS (FWD), it somewhat looks like SUV and will save you a lot of money! :biggrin2:
We all (well, almost all) remember when gas was under $1 per gallon. Today we are paying over $3 per gallon and most of us did not change our driving habits.
Price of milk almost doubled in the last year.
Levi's jeans were $19.99 a pair when I wore them. Last time I bought jeans for my 13 year old son I paid $69.99!!!
The point is that prices go up, as does the cost of doing business, and as long as consumers are paying these higher prices, the merchants will continually increase them (have to preserve the Gross Margin) :bigok:

holy sh!t?!?!? all the way up to $62k on a sequoia??? crap, if i am willing to spend that much $ on a brand new big suv, might as well i for sure will pick LC instead.... no matter how good toyota is trying to change on a new sequoia, it's still a crap to me especially the look.

The Sequoia at $62k is a fully loaded SUV with many luxury appointments. The Limited Sequoia isn't even the top of the line anymore. It's now the Platinum. It comes in SR5, Limited and Platinum.
If that's expensive, try a Tundra CrewMax loaded to the gills. That'll approach high $40s, maybe even $50k and it's a truck. Just today during lunch I saw one optioned as such, V8 5.7 CrewMax 4x4 Limited with nav, leather, shell, etc. Two minutes later another guy rounds the block with another CrewMax, this one wasn't as lavish as the first one.
Though many with $50-60k to spend probably won't buy a Toyota. For that amount many can buy a vehicle from a luxury marque. But I would rather drive something from Toyota (including Lexus and Scion) than any other brand.
IMO, any decent car nowadays is going to be around the $30k range, Camrys with a V6 and leather interiors.
