New Trail Edition owner

Brought home a shiny new '11 TE. Base TE package in classic silver. Pretty stoked on this new rig. This is my third 4-Runner and I've also owned a 60 series Landcruiser in the past. I'm anxious to get to work in the suspension, hopefully will have a lift on the way shortly.

Anyone know if I can shoe-horn a set of 295/70/17's (Nitto Trail Grapplers) up in those wheel wells before my lift arrives? I'm talking city driving only and not much weight in it. I've read a ton of threads on what works tire and suspension-wise but I'm talking about a temp setup for a week or so until the lift arrives.

Anyway, I didn't get to snap a quality pic before the sunset tonight and since threads without pics positively suck, here's my other current rig (sorry it's not a Toy)->

I have seen 285/70s on no lift, but 295/70 might be pushing it a bit much (even for Nittos).

Welcome to the 5th Gen family.

What lift you have planned?

I'm sure it would fit the wheel wells no problem, but rub a ton when turning. Also might be risky considering 295's usually have an 8" rim width minimum requirement.

Nice truck !....My 255/75/17's fill the wheel wells and I can't imagine a larger tire without a lift and possible fender trimming or other mods for those tall/wide tires.
