Does anyone know how difficult it is to remove the factory grille?

From some posts here and on facebook, apparently, they do.. some people inquired with alibaba and were sent the picture with logo separate. Its the exact same product from what I can see..

Not difficult, but you’ll need new plastic tabs in case yours break

Just watch out for the hood release mounting clip. If you're not careful you'll snap the small plastic clip.
Otherwise the nuts might be rusted on there and you'll snap the bolt off at the end if you use too much torque to remove them. If you're replacing the grill, then it doesn't matter since they should have their own mounting bolts attached.

That is what the seller is telling people privately, in chat. My guess is they are afraid of running afoul of Toyota copyright stuff. If you will notice, most grilles on ebay, etc. don't show pictures of badges for the same reason.
My guess is if the badge doesn't show up (which lets be real, is a risk here), you could probably use one from an actual tacoma trd grille, but who knows. Worst comes to worst, I'll put some mesh and a classic Toyota emblem in there.

I just messaged this seller asking about the Toyota emblem and they sent me this picture. Probably going to end up ordering it. Others I've seen were $75 plus $140 for shipping but this one is $85 plus $46 for shipping.

After I posted, I went ahead and ordered it. Came out to $144 shipped, they're doing a $20 off special for upgraded shipping, I did the UPS expedited (originally $78, $58 after discount) with expected delivery for 10/12. The ocean freight shipping was $46 (no discount) with expected delivery between 11/18-12/17. I just paid the extra 12 to have it way sooner

The UPS shipping varie wildly. For me, the UPS shipping was 125$ with 20$ off so I stuck with Ocean Freight. I am not in a hurry.

I had no clue those other companies had the grille, let alone thinking to check alibaba.

Odd opinion, I don't know why people do the raptor thing. They have to have the lights legally, d/t the width of the vehicle. When you put it on something smaller it just screams short guy in heals trying to look big

Lol, all I did was pull together the stuff on one of the Facebook groups into one thread over here where the cool kids hang out.
Honestly though, this gets at the core problem the 4th gen 4runner has. I am still convinced that Toyota is bewildered that people buy the 4runner. The Highlander has more space and better gas mileage, why would anyone buy the 4runner? xD In the 4th gen era, Toyota drove looks and everything towards the soccer Mom crowd, not realizing how badly the offroad crowd wanted something that wasn't a jeep.
This grille, plus a new bumper goes a long way to making the 4runner look better. Now if I can just find a rear bumper that doesn't cost an arm and a leg... :flypig::flypig::flypig:

There are a bunch of 5th gens around me that do it. It's just an accent light. Some people like it, others don't. My wife deemed it "something else that could break" xD
That said, I find giant lightbars that are never used far more obnoxious.
