New user, vibration questions

I have spent the last month loving my new 4Runner wih one exception, the infamous 65-75mph drone in overdrive. I have read all of the related links on this site, but still a few questions perstist...

Does the problem persist on thoroughly broken in trucks, ie. 10000 miles+?

Anyone in warm weather climates notice any less noise in 50+ weather?(Cold as hell in VA since I bought mine)

Any Northern VA owners with a link to a dealer who is currently aware and working on a solution?

Will I be expected to cover costs of fluid replacement, tire balance/rotation etc, or will the dealer/warranty cover it?

Lastly, I would welcome any recommendations on how to approach the dealer to cut through the usual B.S. and get straight to the Toyota tech advisor since I'm sure the oil changers at my dealer will waste my time?

How noticeable is the vibration?

Just curios about this topic. My truck doesn't appear to suffer from this affliction (at speeds in excess of 80 mph).

How loud is the drone noise? Do you have to turn off the radio and hold your ear to the dash in order to hear it or is it really noticeable?

And the vibration, do you feel it in the steering wheel? Like when braking with warped rotors? Or does the whole car vibrate like when driving or slight rough pavement?

15000 (relatively) quiet miles so far. Hopefully I'll never find out what everyone else is complaining about.

I only experience the drone. You hear it with your radio on at a reasonable volume. You do not need to put your head to the dash, you hear it. I do not experience any vibration in my steering wheel though! :dunno:

It is quite annoying. The closest way I can describe it is like a plane dialing in twin engines. When engines aren't quite in tune, there is a wah-wah-wah-wah vibration.
I feel it in my feet and hands. Really it only shows up between 72-78mph upon further testing. But living on the I-95 cooridor, that is exactly where you set the cruise control.

V-8 5-speed only as far as I know. Includes the Lexus GX 470 as well.

Here's the test, find a nice open stretch of road with a slight incline and set the cruise at 74. Let me know...
I hope my mania doesn't ruin your day, but I know there are more of you out there who just haven't heard it yet!

That's an excellent description, thanks for posting. I regularly cruise at those speeds (70-75 mph) on the Jersey turnpike and I have never heard a sound like that. Hills are in short supply around here, but next time I'm on the turnpike, I'll set my cruise on 74 and pay closer attention.

I hear it very well while cruising down the Garden State Parkway at 75mph. I thought it sounded like the engine was losing power, but I hit the pedal hard and it proved me wrong. :lmao:
