So i got the wheels attached at a really good price. But i was wondering if i am going to need spacers to make them work. Could anyone tell me if they will. thanks

Hard to say with that +18 offset and 9 inches wide. My best guess is you will need spacers. If not spacers then it will be really close to the UCA especially if you have stock ones. But nothing spacers cant fix! And with spacers and that wide ass wheel your stance will look BA. :naughty:

But no better way to know than jacking up your rig and test fitting them. Post up some pics when you do.

man it kicked my ass to do it myself earlier to make sure that but i forgot to check that part. but i did it on the rear. but what i plan on doing is go to Discount Tire and have them check it for me before i buy the tires from them. Plus with my 2.5 ton floor jack couldnt get the front up using the jack points. so i figure paying discount $20 is money well spent.

First off thanks for doing that. But sorry if I sound dumb, I'm new to after market wheels, what do you mean by what u calculated I'm lost. Thanks for your help.
 
You can take new wheel specs and compare to stock and calculate how they will fit in relation to original setup. For example if you were going from a 7" wheel to an 8" wheel and both had identical offsets the new wheel would be 0.5" closer to the UCA. Different offsets just makes it a little more difficult to calc.
 
I find this shit insanely confusing. how can a wheel have zero offset but a backspacing more than half the width of the wheel? wouldnt zero offset have to mean there is the same amount of wheel on each side of the hub mounting surface, since offset is defined as the distance from the mounting surface of the wheel to the centerline of the wheel?
 
I run a 9" wide wheel but with a negative 12 (if I remember correctly) and that puts me right around 4.56" off backspacing. I have a feeling you definitely will need spacers.

My opinion don't buy if you haven't already unless the deal is that good and will cover the cost of a quality set of spacers (aka spidertrax).

Rule of thumb to remember....Positive offsets will tuck the wheel inwards and negative offsets will push the wheel outwards. In most cases (to maintain the same inner-clearance) anytime you go wider...you want to increase the negative offset to equal 1/2 of the total width increase.

For example: Suppose you're installing a 1" wider wheel. You're immediately losing .5" of inner clearance (and .5" of outer clearance). Using 2nd grade math you know that 12mm equals about .5". All things being equal on the wheel (except the 1" width increase)...you'll need -12mm of offset in order "Offset" the increased .5" of inner width. This puts you back to neutral.

In your case you added .5" of inside width AND .75" (+18mm) of offset for a total inside clearance loss of 1.25".

My bet is that you're going to most certainly need spacers.
 
ok thanks. after watching some videos and reading i finally get this. if a wheel is 8 inches wide, with 4.5 inches backspace and 0 offset its because its actually 9 inches wide.its pretty silly that the industry accepts this convention. why not just say its a 9 inch wheel?
