New wheels/tires (pics)

After months of trying to decide what I wanted, I finally pulled the trigger. Went with the advice of "Hepar" for the wheels, and "03 Limited" for the tires. Bought everything from Discount tire for about $1,300.00 .

Pro Comp 8069's 16x8
Yokohama Geolander ATS 265/75/16

I'm going to paint the hubs black and possibly remove the running boards since the tires rub them.

Has anyone found a good way to paint the valance? I've read a few threads and it seems like chipping/peeling is inevitable. Someone used Plasti Dip and I thought I might try that.

Glad to see someone else with in-channel visors too haha. I can't stand how tacky those stick on ones look on most 4R's, why not go with in-channels? Nice wheels too mayne.

Yeah, those visors were in when I purchased the vehicle. They're a little loose now so I might have to get some denture adhesive on there or something. Have yours come loose?

Damn you HEPAR! :sniper: Quit selling these guys our rims! If I see one more thread of somebody getting 8069's I'm gonna have to go buy a new set of wheels.

Jared P...

The setup looks good man. I think plasti-dip would probably be your best bet for painting the valence, unless you get it done professionally.

Im not sure if it's just the tires filling our your wheel wells or what, but that thing sure does look low. (I realize its 2wd, but it looks like it's actually been lowered... reminds me of the one pic floating around of the 'Runner with the bronze Volks on it)

Haha, once I saw Hepar's set up I was pretty much convinced. I've always liked "revolver" style wheels with a deep dish. I came close to buying XD Addicts or Hoss's but they have the same backspacing as stock wheels.

I would say my 4Runner sits slightly lower than others, but at the same time those tires are 32's in reality.
