Did you see anywhere in the itinerary stating that we giving wheeling lessons for any persons wanting to come but just learning to wheel and are also wanting to partake in the New Years Wheeling Run & Fun!! Seriously?
Glad to know it’s not just me !! I didn’t see it stated anywhere either. That needs to be addressed and fixed immediately and will not be tolerated cause here in SoCal all persons and at any wheeling level are welcome to join.

Hahaha word! Well I’ll be bringing a few bundles of firewood and a bottle of Mezcal to share around the camp fire and plenty of good vibes. I’m def in for day 2 for. Looking forward to meeting everyone. I don’t have a cb radio yet what’s the best way of linking up with you guys that morning ? Actually I don’t mind buying a cheap ham radio if someone has a few suggestions on what to get.

As far as meeting with us in the am on day 2, I can give you coords to a meetup spot and a time to be there, and the rest would be up to you. Won’t be hard or anything but day 1 meetup would be a lot easier for you. Let me know

I do have two extra radios up for use if they aren’t already in the hands of someone who showed up on Day 1... just saying! :wink2:
Also... I’d be down to coordinate a meet up on Day 2 at 62 & Gold Crown to lead folks in to Chilitown for the day. If needed? ... as long as we can meet and be back to camp in time for the Main Event Departures!
Not sure what time we were thinking about heading out for the day on Sunday but I’d imagine that a meet up time an hour ahead of Departures would be sufficient?

Like miah said this run is great for beginners and popping that wheelin cherry as well as exploring and great peeps to hang out.

This group runs ham radios. You can get a baofeng in amazon at some point. If there's an extra for you to use good but if not no worries. We won't leave you...well maybe for initiation hehe j/k.

Good shiit! Usually meet at 9 and wheelin by 930. That should give some time to get back to camp. Try to get going before 10. Day 2 is packed with mine exploration and hopefully not to much mishaps.

Here is a HAM Radio option from Amazon. There are plenty of more expensive options on there as well but this is an affordable starting point!

If you do not have a Handheld HAM and plan on doing these runs in groups like this I highly recommend picking one up. I learned pretty quickly that most of the folks out here running trails are using these and it’s a must have item for staying in comms with the group. Plus all the back & forth B.S. is fun as hell!
Get Yourself One of These Radios!
There are plenty of videos online on how to operate and set up your radio for SIMPLEX use and it’s easy peasy!
It’s much better when we all have Comms and the ability to communicate with one another on the trails!

You can pick up a Baofeng handheld ham radio for cheap new and used $25-50 bucks. Amazon and Ebay. But I see them on Craigslist,OfferUp and letgo all the time.
I don’t know where your located but the a ham radio shop in Santa Ana and in Fontana as well can’t remember the names off the top of my head at the moment.
Here’s one most guys are using and they come in all sorts of colors and styles

My replacement Baofeng wont arrive till Jan 4th - 6th if im lucky lol
May I please borrow 1 of yours if you have 2 extras?
Side note- has anyone ever had a dead screen/ blank display on a baofeng? I received one over a month ago and it never turned on, checked the power and all that stuff but the display was the only thing not working.
After tons of back and forth with the ebay seller, they finally agreed to replace it for me as long as I send back the bad unit.

Day 1 is still correct. I think some may try getting there on friday. We're expecting most to arrive sat morning. Al is asking to pm him if not gonna make it or already at JT and still gonna make sat meet time so we're not waiting. Chime in [MENTION=77357]85straight[/MENTION] if correct.
