i just joined the group after weeks of reading and thinking back to when i was going off roading alot. now that i am a college student i dont have too much time. but, i did just buy a 2nd generation 1990 4runner. i would like any feed back at all on this. it has 130,000 miles, 4x4, auto, v6 etc. i picked it up for 1700. thanks.

For only $1700? Speical deal from friend/family? Thats a pretty good deal. Just a little old but not really.
 
Nice find! For $1700, you can't go wrong. Just to be safe, did you run a carfax on it to make sure everything checks out?
 
Great find!!

Suggestion -- go ahead and do all the normal preventive maintenance -- oil, fluids, etc. , check brakes. Just to prevent problems in the near future.

You might also ask the former owner if they have maintenance records they will send you. Never hurts to ask.
 
i plan to chance the oil, plugs, wires, and change the tranny fluid. after reading i have found it might be better to drain the tranny fluid vs flushing the tranny.any ideas wouldbe great. also i think there should be a fliter i would want to change there. other then that it should be good to go, fairly new tires, and new inspection sticker.
