Hi all! I'm new to the T4R but not new to Toyotas (MR2s, Corollas, Camrys, and an old pick 'em up).

Just picked up an '02 Sport Edition with under 100k for $9500.00 here in Marylandistan. She is clean with original paint all over except a shoddy job on the front bumper. Appears to be bone stock sans my newly installed headunit and Thule bike rack system. Since it will be a daily driver and hauling bikes & kayaks nothing crazy is on the upgrade list just yet. We will see how long that lasts...

My plan is to go over her maintenance wise: new tires (currently has Cooper Discoverer L/Ts now which I'd swear are square) to Michelin LTX M/S on stock rims; replace the timing belt, water pump, t-stat, tensioners, idlers, and accessory belts since their history is unknown; a new radiator and a remote located transcooler to avoid the dreaded strawberry milkshake; all fluids will be flushed out & replaced; and new brakes on the front. I'm doing this all as preventative measures just to be safe (I spent many a year working on old BMWs which eat up maintenance in the beginning!)

Overall I'm happy as a clam with it, certainly better & nicer than my '93 Jeep Grand Cherokee was after 20 years. I hope to hold on to it as long as I did the GC, and judging from what I've read here so far I don't see that as being a problem.

So... any suggestions?
