Depends on how savy you are. For this type of head unit and these types of add ons this is what you will pretty much be doing.
- removing parts of the center console in order to remove the stock HU, there is a nice write up out on the site for that.
- buying factory integrated stock harnesses to interface with the new HU. Basically to plug the stock wiring into the Aftermarket HU. This will consist mostly of wires like the 12v+ constant, 12v switched, illumination wire, remote turn on if there are any amps or other HU switched on products, speaker connections + & -, ground, vss (if a navi unit), brake switch, reverse switch (if you have a backup camera), power antenna, and there may be a few extra I cant remember of the top of my head. Also, if you are going to do the steering wheel control if I can remember correctly you will interface in with one factory wire using the SW adapter and some resistors. These are the types of wires you would deal with in a stereo install.
Then you pretty much have to put the console back together (oh you may need a trim kit for this HU also to fill in the gap) and then your done. Its not too difficult if you are familiar with the wiring and what they are used for but at the same time it could be a little intimidating if you are new to the whole thing.
My 2 cents are if you are going to spend over a $1000 for any type of equipment and you are not familar or comfortable with the process its almost worth a piece of mind to have it professionally installed. Let me know if you have any other questions, i'd be appy to help if I can.....
