Hello all my name is Erick I've been an Acura tech for 6 years and I'm from the western burbs of Chicago. I'm an owner of a 90% done 79 Camaro with a big block and drive or should I say daily DROVE a 98 cherokee with 6.5" lift, locked and plated yada yada....
I was always a big fan of the tacos and runners but I grew up around Jeeps so thats what i chose to wheel with. I wasnt looking for another truck till last month (4/30). After a day of wheeling I decided I couldnt haul my kids to school/sitters in a dusty Jeep. That Monday I got to work and found a 97 4R with the 5V auto. So I clocked in, grabbed the keys and did some investigating. This thing is clean. No rust anywhere and the interior is mint! It has 213k miles but from what I hear thats nothing for a Yota. Only issue is it blew white smoke for 30 seconds and went away. No biggie. Anyway... Got permission to drive it for a week. I fell in love right away. This thing drives smooth and I cant even feel it shift. It spent most of its life in AZ and only 2 years in Chicago. I bought it for 2K out the door. I think i stole this truck.
I'm going to have a lot of questions but hopefully once i learn this beast I'll be able to throw in some input.
