Newb w/ a question

I've owned my 4runner since 03 and love it! I bought it with 75K on it and it now has 192K. So far I've had no major issues. One thing that is going on now is, when it is first started and cold, it misfires and hesitates. Once it warms up all is good. Any idea on what could cause this? It isn't throwing a code, so I don't know what is going on.

I don't know but when was the last time your plugs and wires were changed? Couldn't hurt.

Can you explain it a little more? Like when you put it in drive and try to accelerate does it seem like you are in neutral before it 'kicks in' and is really harsh?

If so, I had that problem and can tell you what happened with mine.

The plugs were changed about 6 months ago...but it wouldn't hurt to replace them. (I need to do a tune up/oil change anyway).

At first when my wife told me the symptoms, I thought that the transmission was slipping. When I got in to drive it I noticed that it does the same thing in neutral...hesitates and feels like it is misfiring. After 5 to 10 minutes of warming up it does fine. No hesitations while accelerating or idling.

Oh, and it is the 3.4L. Sorry, forgot to add that.
