Newb with new BFG AT KOs---How much vibration is normal for AT tires vs road tires?

Well I just got a new set of BFG AT KO 265/75/16 and I noticed the truck vibrates more around 65-70. Once I go past 70 it really vibrates a lot. Of course the intensity of the vibration depends also on the road. This 4runner is my first ever truck/suv. I've had the truck for less than 2 months. The previous tires were Bridgestone Dueler H/Ts which rode very nice. Of course I expect the ride to be rougher with the new tires but I am not sure whats normal and whats not Is some vibration expected at high speeds given that they are off roading tires? I got my tires at 4wheelparts and I figured they should know how to balance the tires properly. They didnt have the Haweka adapter but I figured they must have some sore of equivalent. Should I consider getting the balance done at Americas Tire or maybe a Toyota dealership.

On another note...when I first got the tire I heard a loud popping sound similar to the sound made when they deflate the tires from the rim. Might the sound be from the new tires settling in to the rim or perhpas the flex of the rubber.

I am a total newbie so any help would be appreciated

I have the same exact tire on my HD truck and I have no vibration at that speed...

Take the tires back to 4wheelparts and tell them they are badly vibrating. They may need to rebalance and if they can't tell them you want to go somewhere else to get them balanced properly.

Tell them about the popping also, you could have gotten a bad tire and had a belt break.....

sounds like balancing issue.

get it done elsewhere. I have never had any problems with America's Tire doing it right.

A broken belt will, most times, cause 'dimples' or 'waves' in the side wall of the tire.....a broken belt on new BFGs is highly unlikely, but I was just throwing out options...... :bigok:

Does America's Tire have the Haweka adapter?

I have the same tires too with no vibration at those speeds or more. Maybe they need to be re-balanced or you've got a bad tire?

Most Toyota dealership will have the adaptor and will balance your tires right. You need the adaptor AND Hunter GSP 9700 (or latest edition) machine.
