Newbe from Arkansas With a 1997 LMTD

Hey guys been watching this site for a little while. Love the info and the killer rides. Here is a few shots of my new to me 1997 runner

The tires are the first to go. These 315's are way to big (major rubbing). I plan on running some 285's asap and have a set of bumpers being drawn up from my buddy. Go easy on me guys I plan on making many changes as this is my DD and Wheeler :thanks:

Looks good. You should repaint your lower valance up front with some duplicolor plastic paint or something similar. Welcome to the forums

that is one killer runner. I plan on locking my rig f&r can my axles handle a 315? I come from a decked out wrangler with a ton of mods and so the 4runner is a whole new ballgame for me. I used to be heavy into rockcrawling but I want to do a little more tail riding with some mild crawling

I have to relearn about 4runners. I have had alot of toyota trucks and have had 2 runners before but the last 5 years I have been heavy into jeeps.

Hey i'm in Shreveport, La. I dont think we're too far from each other. I got a couple buddies that would be down to do some wheelin if there is anywhere that like a centeral point for us all if anyone is down.

Hot Springs has an orv park called superlift. It's kinda central Arkansas. Iam in nw arkansas. So it would be about 4 hours from me. How about you?

If you are only planning on running moderate trails, I wouldn't worry with locking the front. CV's are easy to break on locked IFS rigs. I've driven my truck over everything I've put in front of it and seldomly even use the rear locker really... It's cheap insuurance but you can't beat picking the right line and knowing your rigs capabilities.

I've wheeled 285's and loved them. I just wanted to go bigger. I like the look and I gained some ground clearance as well. Personal preference. As far as the truck being strong enough to handle it, yes it is. I've been running 315's for a few thousand miles now with 0 issues...

What lift are you running? What tires do you want to run? Any other plans for it? I like helping out...

Also, I'm in Alabama and would love to get out and meet a few more members some time, keep me informed of ya'lls planned rides/meets...

That's great! I get together with this group alot Arkansas Chapter - TTORA Forum they plan lots of trips to Cass, Disney, Clayton, Superlift and so on. We should totally get the groups together and do some wheeling.

I don't plan on going real nuts. I plan on doing some agressive trail riding but not a bunch of rock gardens. I am not sure on the lift, he told me it was a 2.5 or 3". Looks like a spacer lift to me though.

I'll take all the advice I can get. That's how I learned tons about jeeps. As for the tires I will run some aggressive A/Ts. Here in Arkansas I can get as crazy or mellow as I want and still have a blast watching everyone tear their stuff up. I will still need to drive mine to work tommorrow so that is my limiter. I have my new tires set for tommorrow. I'll shoo some pics when it gets done.

I go to Disney very often( love it). I have been to cass many times as well. Not been to superlift yet..... I deffinatly want to get together with you on some runs.
