Hello and welcome! It never ceases to amaze me the variety of places we get members from. Are there many 4Runners in that part of the world? What are the roads and trails like? Do you do recreational fourwheeling? You have come to a good place for info for your truck, friend. Enjoy!
A little about our country.
We have a lot of 4runner in Kazakhstan. So we have a Club of this car. I do not know how to correctly provide references to our resources in this forum, so forgive me the administrator. This is the most visited resource but you know it in Russian. Also the Surf Club exists separately, the 4runner is the same, only Japanese. There are many cars imported from Japan to Kazakhstan, so cars with right-hand steering. All 4runner's 215 imported from the US.
Almaty is not big, but very beautiful and interesting city. On one side it is surrounded by mountains and on the other steppe and semi-desert. Here are a few photos of our city.
There we have the mass of opportunities for travel around the city. For example. ASY plateau – is situated at an altitude of more than 2800 metres above sea level. In winter, the climate is very harsh, but in the summer due to the heavy rains, the perfect place for trails.
View from the pass of Kyzyl-Auz. Sometimes, especially after a rain, the transparency of air strikes-it seems that up to the ridge on the contrary you can savour, although in reality the mountains are located in more than 70 km from the pass.
In Almaty is located 100 km north of singin barchan. This unique collection of 90 meters tall sand and a length of several kilometres. During high winds, drifting sand creates a sound similar to the buzz.
White Mountain, Ak-Tau amid cyclone are similar to another planet.
Unique Kaindy Lake was formed as a result of the earthquake in 1910. They blocked the river flood. Water flooded a small Gorge and below it were centuries-old trees. On the surface of the stick out posts – trunks, and underwater trees are much better branch remained intact and there are algae, similar to conifer needles-turned out to be the underwater fairy forest.
Charyn Canyon is a small projection of the Grand Canyon of Colorado, located 200 km from Almaty. The length of the Canyon is about 150 kilometers.
And a few photos from my trip to Lake Issyk-Kul. Right there I went not on the 4runner.

That mountain pass Kok-ojryk, altitude 4000 m. Oxygen isn't in supply, breathing hard, petrol car go very lazy. In such circumstances, the turbo diesel is much better.
And at the end - my car. Summer.
Winter, Hare hunting. Outside temperature: -35 C, that means -31 F. But the thermometer in the car indicates -22 F. Show temperature below -22 F it just can't

Thanks so much for the photos--you DO have a beautiful country! Fantastic photography, too! A lot of the places you showed look like some of the roads/trails I want to go on in our Colorado Rocky Mountains--a number of the roads go above 12k ft., with a couple passes above 13k. I live next to the Black Hills of South Dakota, which are still quite interesting, although none higher than 7200 ft.. Hope you enjoy the forum!

WOW, I'm simply blown away by the diverse landscape. "Grand Canyon in Colorado" indeed. I'm in Colorado and you have landscape very similar to ours (the whole reason for living here in my humble opinion). However, I grew up in the western half of South Dakota and you also have some terrain that reminds me of the Badlands near Wall Drug and Interior...desolate, but beautiful in it's own way. OH, and for what it's worth, I'm a skyline junky and I LOVE your city pics. Small? Maybe, but striking! Love it! Great to have you here!

Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing those pictures... a very beautiful region! It always amazes me to see other regions of the world and how similar they look! Like others have said, it looks to be an awesome mix of some of the best parts of the United States! I also love knowing that there are like-minded people all around the world!
