62, retired , and wanting to travel! We own a 2009 Corolla and 2010 Camry....now we are looking to pick up a good used 4Runner to tow our 18' Caracal Catamaran, as we try to cure our Wanderlust ! :lookout:

Would like to find a 2006-2008 TR4 6 0r 8cyl, 4wd,.....prefer the Limited , with the JBL Premium stereo (us old folks who came up thru the 60's and 70's STILL like our music LOUD!!~~~~ or is it because we are just OLD and HARD of HEARING ??). Limited , because that makes the wife happy with all the foo-foo.....BUT something that had the leather, moonroof, JBLstereo as options would also work!

Thanks Dave......really torn on the V6 vs V8 . Towing an 18' boat ...boat 1700#, motor 420#, trailer 700#, batteries,and all extras 300#.....running about 3200# total.
All my towing is on flat land...Delaware to Florida (except for about 70 miles in VA....up and down, up and down, up and down !!) 1200 miles , chopped into 3 or 4 days of easy driving.... nice to be retired and able to take your time on a trip!one round trip a year, the rest of the time it is our daily driver.....

Just picked up a one owner, 2003 Sport V6, 4X4, 85,300 miles.....JBL 10 speaker premium sound, power sunroof, michelin tires with about 70% tread left, double deck in the back, new serpentine belt and new brakes all around at 81,000 (rotors,drums,calipers,pads), AND a complete copy of all maintenance records from day 1 !! All this for $8,900.........I am happy,happy, happy !!!!
