newbie purchase options

Howdy folks.

I'm in the market for a used 4th gen 4runner. I've narrowed my choices down and would like some feedback on which one I might get and also whether any of these prices are reasonable or unreasonable. I'll probably be doing 90% in-town driving with occasional off-road (beach) and small boat trailering. Towing would be less than 5,000 lbs. I would prefer to spend <$25k but can go up to $30k if there's a good deal.

What looks good out of these choices?

I'd think seriously about the low mileage 07 SR5, and grind the dealer down on the price. With the economy and the bad press Toyota has been getting lately, business is slow. The V6s are part-time 4WD instead of AWD like the V8s. You seldom need or use 4WD, so there's no reason to turn the front differential unless it's necessary. Enjoy your purchase. You'll love it.

I agree, this definitely seems like the best deal to me. Don't worry, towing <5000 lbs is no problem with the V6.

See if you can knock out the price by couple grand and get an extended warranty. I had a 2008 4X4 V6 limited and always wanted more torque. I traded it in and bought a 2007 V8 4X4 sport and I love the V8.

Also, you can find a new 2010 4X4 V6 SR5 for 30K. If you want to get a V6, I will try to find a new one. Just my 2C

Those prices are way way too high IMHO. I bought a 2009 SR5 V6 4WD with 43K for $22.9K, and this was several months ago. At the time it was well in excess of $3K under book, even after the mileage deduct.

Personally, when I shop for a vehicle, I shop aggressively, not just locally, but on the internet, and fly out of state to buy if the savings is enough, which is exactly what I did for this purchase. I looked at hundreds and hundreds of 4Runners online before I made my purchase. It's worth the time I invest to me to save thousands of dollars on the purchase.

Thank you for all the feedback, everybody. I do like the looks of that '07 SR5, but I agree with Webby that the prices seem high.

However, I just found another one, at a Ford dealership about 45 minutes away. It seems like a good deal, based on KBB and Edmunds pricing. See what you all think:

It looks very, very clean but I have not had a chance to visit it yet. Dealer has had it for sale about 2 weeks.
