newbie questions about wheels

Hello,

A few newbie question that i hope someone is kind enough to enlighten me.

i have 92 4runner with a V6 5 speed. it's got 31's tires on there with 15" rims.

Can these rims hold 33 12.50 tires? what is the exact spec for these rims? such such as bolt pattern, offset.

some lifts that i have been looking at needs 3.75" back spacing rims. what does that mean? is that the offset number?

All i'm trying to do is throw some 33x12.50's on it after doing a 3-4" lift.

Where to start ...

First, I think the guy is wrong, the bolt pattern is probably 6 x 5.5, not 4.5.

As for the specs on your rims, the diameter and width are stamped on them, look for something like 15-7.5-JJ. The bolt pattern on them is 6 x 5.5" (Toyota 2WD trucks are 5 x 4.5")

You can run 12.50 tires on an 8-10" width rim.

Offset is the measurement between the center line of the wheel (width wise) and the Wheel Mounting Surface.
If the WMS was equal to the center line, the offset would be 0"

Another term often used is backspacing, which is the measurement from the WMS and the inside edge of the wheel.
