I have a 99 LTD. For the last couple of weeks, I have been trying to fix a miss in the engine. Here is what I have done and what I notice when driving. Anyone with helpful info would be greatly appreciated.
The engine light came on (and occasionally flashes) and the enging started to miss. The first time it was in the shop, the codes read "Miss on 2, Miss on 3, Lean on 1". At this point, one of the coils was replaced. Drove the car home and the next time I got in it, it was missing again.
At this point, I discovered that it runs smooth as long as the engine is cool and is running. Once it heats up, if it is cut off and restarted, it starts missing.
Took it back to the shop and they replaced all of the plugs and wires and fuel filter. Same thing again, got it home and it started missing again.
Took it back to the shop and the computer read "Miss 3, Lean on 1". The mechanic worked on it all day and came to the conclusion that he thinks it is the inector.
I am not sure that I agree with him, does anyone have any info?
