Newbie with some issues...

Hello all...bought my new '06 Limited earlier this year (My 4th 4runner!) and I am starting to do some mods...Installed aFe Drop in filter and Magnaflow exhaust last weekend. Truck is great and I am totally inpressed by its build quality. HOWEVER...I have a few issues...
1. I also experience the driveline "wrap" discussed and its getting really annoying.
2. ANYTIME the A/C compressor kicks in...the ENTIRE truck shudders and it feels as if someone has rear-ended me.
3. The power down on drivers window and power close on sunroof intermittantly stops working.

Anyway, not really complaining...I deall with it, just annoyed the dealer keeps telling me its "normal" for this vehicle!

Well, I will keep you all posted as I do my own audio/video work...and I plan on lifting /modifying my truck over the next few months! No more lurking...its time for me to share as I build! LOL
Thanx for listening!

Welcome

Welcome to the forum and fellow Californian( Los Angeles). I've also experienced the A/C problem as you stated, but only a couple of times. I can deal with it too. Keep us posted on your coming mods.

Thanks guys for your speedy response and suggestions!! Ill definitely keep you all posted...especially when I do my audio/video mods.

Welcome to the site and the 4Runner Family.

1. Grease the drive shaft (propeller shaft) and it should help allot. I used this stuff and don't have the thump.

2. The vehicle idles very low so when the compressor kicks in (and the idle is automatically raised) it can move the truck if you are light on the brakes.

3. The auto up/down windows have to be reset (By cycling them up and down a couple times) after the battery has been disconnected. When closing the sunroof it will stop half way and you will need to hit the button again.

Koz,

Are you putting the same grease for all joints?

That is the way it was with my 3rd gen but the 4th gen is a one touch close procedure. Koz I see you have the sunroof in yours, does yours require a second push to auto close it?

Koz, is there a way you could post a picture of where to grease it. if not, that's fine. anyone out here is welcome to do it (picture) i dont know how to do it, or least where to look. i can only go as far as oil change and that's it. i hear "propeller shaft" and i go, where the heck is that located.

thanks.

Is problem Number 2 a V6 or V8 problem? I've got a V6 and I haven't noticed the shuddering when the A/C comes on. Mabye I'm just not sensitive to that sort of thing..

Wow! Thanx for all the replies...to answer the last question...Yes, 2 of my friends also have Limited V8's and both have the SAME problem with the A/C. Hard on the brakes, compressor or clutch kicks in , and it literally feels like someone just tapped your rear bumper (and the rpm's rise about 2-300). Havent noticed this problem with any of the other guys in their V6's. Just thought id share.
