Hi to All! I am a new and proud owner of a 98 4runner ...I brought it for $800.00 a great price but it needs a lot of work... So far I had an oil leak fixed in the engine , front brake pads, a full tune up, cooling system serviced, thermostat replaced, trans service, differential service, oil change, belts replaced, right valve cover gasket, a new gas cap and the u joint replaced....it cost me $840.00 but now I am being told that I need an entire rear end...it has a 4.10 based on the code A03A ...I was told by a Toyota dealer my gear ratio is 2.928... my mechanic said it needs the entire rear differential and agrees 4.10 without lock sounds correct ...axle and all....I have tried some local junk yards but am having no luck.....I found one place that has it for 990 plus 150 in shipping ....any advise from my 4runner owners....any advise is greatly appreciated!
