Hi everybody, just bought my first Runner but it's my 4th toyota, also never used a forum before. It's a 2005 sr5 V8 4WD. My question is will the TRD beeadlock wheels fit over the stock brakes. Sounds like it will on my sr5 but not sport for some reason? I'm thinking I'm gonna start with Toytec's 3 inch spacer lift with the above wheels and 285/75 tires. I've had a few tacos and they fit that size tire no problem with 2.5-3 inches of lift. I'm also thinking of Toytec's 1 inch body lift if I need more clearance. I love how this thing rides compared to a Tacoma so I want to keep it that way. Thanks for the help.

The TRD beadlock wheels won't fit some models because of the larger "sport brakes". The 16" wheel isnt large enough to clear them, bu 17" is. With the 285's, you'll need to trim the fenders/bumper, and may need to BMC. Body lift will give you virtually NO clearance (except maybe a milimeter moving the bumper), other than for tires. With 3" suspension lift, you'll fit the tires, but just expect extreme rub without trimming. Just trim and be done.

bottom line is figure out which calipers you have, this will tell you which size rotors you have... all calipers use the same size pads (the calipers are different between the two size rotors only because the standoffs are longer for the 4Runners that run the 13.3" rotors... functionally, they are the same caliper using the same pads just need longer standoffs to clear the larger rotor).

good luck to you.. for the longest time I wanted the bronze trd beadlock look wheels but alas I discovered they wouldn't fit over my oem rotors and I didn't feel like doing the conversion up front so alas, no trd beadlock style wheels for me...

Thanks guys. I'm trying to get this thing looking less soccer momish ASAP. I have a friend with 16 inch tacoma wheels, I'll just test fit his before I order the wheels. Unfortunately I'm offshore for the next 3 weeks. I was hoping to order the wheels and lift now and do the work when I get home. I have a stereo and speakers coming so that should keep me busy enough.

An inexpensive way may be plastidipping your oem wheels. It's quick and cheap ($30 maybe)... and will get rid of that soccer mommish look if that's the only reason for wanting new wheels. something to consider anyway.

Plastidip is great, and if 16"s won't fit that's what I'll do. This thing is gonna see a lot of trails, especially around brown mt. NC. I like the idea of more rubber and less wheel and tires tend to be cheaper in the 16" size. I've never seen those beadlock wheels on a 4runner and I want to do something different. Plus the bronze I think would look great. I have the original build sheet from toyota that has 16" wheels listed as standard and then the 17s as a dealer installed option. That may have been a way for the dealer to just charge a little more idk. Thanks for all the input.
