Long time lurker, new member here just sharing my purchase story.
I just purchased a '97 T4R, IMMEDIATELY after purchasing the check engine light came on and the leaky tire the seller mentioned turned out to be a leaky wheel. This has made me regret my purchase but I do love the truck so I am torn.
Specs:
97 Limited 4x4
267,000 miles
Lockers
4:88 gearing
Body lift (4-6 inches, I can't eyeball it, can you?)
Came with 35's with no tread left
I have many questions that I will make separate posts for over time, I guess the one question I can ask here is how bad did I get ripped off, or is it not a bad deal? Be totally honest please. I paid $3400 for the truck but it has a CEL and needs new wheels and tires. The engine was rebuilt at around 200,000 miles with a non-detailed receipt so that gives me a bit of hope.
I did leave it with my mechanic and he said it was just an ignition coil, that was changed but the CEL came back.
