So Saturday I jumped in my 4runner ready to go out, and My Pioneer 7800(Great Single Din Deck) screen was dead black. Everything worked fine but the display was black while in place and it would work when I press the eject button and it folded down.

... weird

Anyways, I bought it two years ago and happened to buy the service plan because I worked at best buy at the time. Today I went in and found a buddy that worked there and swapped it with the Pioneer AVHP4000DVD. Of course I did pay the difference. It was still well worth it. The new deck is absolutely great and gives me an option to change the lighting to green to match the stock green. The one problem it gave me was the DVD bypass. I finally figured it out that it had to be grounded through a switch to work. and well here are the pics :)

On a side note, the damn bulb for the AC display burnt out sometime today too damn it so i have to do some research on replacing that now. Just my luck. hah

Its been a while since I have posted but some recent changes I've made to the whip:

Finally got that TRD emblem

Went from 2 Sony 12's to 1 Alpine Type R 12 inch

Got some Mesh Grille inserts and a Wood Wheel Cover(on its way) from Jason Burtman

and well I got pulled over a while ago for my taillight tint covers so i bought altezzas but they were just too damn rice, so I put the covers back on hahah

moreee mods to come :)

Be carefull driving with a dvd playing, it is very distracting. Trust me, I know from personal experience. I took mine out after I put a dodge neon up on the sidewalk!

Yes! Glad to see I could help :)

The hand brake wire has a good amount of length and I had an empty switch from where I used to have my ricey neons all wired to so I used that. (picture below) As for the wiring, I just took the panel under the wheel and used one of the stock clips and two zip ties to secure it from dangling down to the pedals, and then wired it to the switch. The other end of that switch is routed down to underneath the kick panel where it is grounded there.

All you have to do is flick the switch on and the video will work. It is a lil tricky to figure out once the unit is on, but once you get used to using the switch with the unit you will see how it works.

(not exactly the prettiest switch)

I did happen to change the ac lights today thankfully, and I picked up some very cleanly made floor mats from Costco. I am still waiting for the wood wheel cover from burtman industries though.

BTW, while at Toyota I happend to see these nice pedals, if anyone was looking for any.
