That would be a bad A$$ Camry

The 3.5 would be awesome in a new gen 4runner. I just hope they keep production in Japan and don't go to Mexico like they did with the Tacoma.

Aluminum body panels with lexan inserts
Carbon fiber frame (possibly nano, depending on contract status with Boeing)
Panoramic sunroof with integrated PV panels
Full time, self generated wi-fi with video streaming
integrated microwave cell signal generator/repeater
Four wheel run flats
Exhaust SOX, NOX, SO2, CO, particulate scrubber

The only one I would even remotely back-up on that list is the WiFi & microwave TX/RX lol

Everything else is just ridiculous for a 4WD vehicle. (unless we're talking military style run-flats that take bullets and keep rolling.)

Ok. It was a stupid post. I do that from time to time.

I was trying to do three things at the same time. And I almost hit that fool in the Chevy Volt right as I was typing the Wi-Fi suggestion...!

The 6th gen will come out as 2017 model next year at this time . It will have the new V6 3.5 and the new six speed automatic. The smog pump will be gone, it will have a redesign with LED headlights , blind spot monitoring and all the electronic goodies we've come to expect including pushbutton start. The trail version will have a redesigned rear axle with internal locker and retain its hood scoop. It will come with a 3.90 axle ratio and be available in all the same basic colors with the exception of the metallic black being replaced by standard black. The heavy mechanical KDSS system is on the table for change at some point. It will retain the solid rear axle and roll down rear window. Ordering to begin 06/2016 deliveries to begin September.

Styling is somewhat of a big deal for me.

Will it retain the 5th gen's mostly conservative and muted styling?

Or will it be some abomination like the new Lexus Land Cruiser?

Oh no you didn't! No one makes bad jokes based on my own bad jokes!

That's an infringement on my personal right to have a corny sense of humor...I need to go call my lawyer.

I have one on retainer, I'll PM you her contact info when your attorney wants to have a chat:D

I heard that September is when Toyota will announce 2017 4runner. March is when they announced other 2017 model cars. But not sure if 2017 will be the next gen. But somewhere in september there will be announcement about 2017 4 runner.

Toyota would be smart to keep doing what they do, which is not re-designing their vehicles every 2 years. GM just redesigned the sierra/Silverado for 2014 (which IMO looked pretty good despite being a GM), and after only 2 years, the 2016 models underwent a design refresh complete with a new front end.

I would add that Toyota and Lexus designs are definitely getting uglier with each redesign(the new 2016 lexus front ends are hideous), so the longer they can keep their older designs, the better IMO.
