So I know most will say these are a waste of clearance, they're not sliders, blah blah blah. Look, here's the deal: I got a short wife who has a hard time getting in the Runner and all my spare cash is directed at buying a new house this spring. So, I spotted these on CL for less than it'd cost to buy material. They're off a 5th Gen. Gonna cut some new brackets for em. Thought maybe there'd be a few of you who'd like to see how it comes out. On that note, here's a mock up:

I think they look great. I wish the RKR rails looked that good. for the money difference and functionality I think I'm goin with the RKR or some Shrockworks, but I don't have a short wife, lol

I would love a set of 4XInnovations sliders with some Dimple Die step plates. But we're looking at doubling our mortgage payments, so we're in conservation mode. She's 4'10", so I park next to a lot of curbs to get her in the truck without having to take a running start.

Looks good man!!! My wife is "petite" too. She likes that term more than "short".lol I have running boards for her. We need to keep our ladies in mind too when building our rigs.

Well, got the passenger side buttoned up. Probably just need one pic to really get the idea. Had to chop about 2 inches off the front and fab mounts from scratch. Spousal Unit approves.

I just moved from the o.p up in Chicago now. Just picked up an 01 sr5 I'm building up. Gunna have a flint hills ozarks worthy 4runner tearing up these city streets, runnin over hipsters. LoL

Great job, and I'm just gonna say... that's impressive! Most people only care about going to the frame, but by tying them into the stock mounts they're now that much easier to remove. Excellent idea!

Looks good. My girlfriend normally doesn't care about having to get in but now that we are expecting it's getting too difficult for her and these step bars are the ticket. Glad to see they fit.

I'm interested to see a little write up on this. Might have a pair available for my from a friend and if I can modify this pretty easy myself I will commit to taking them off his hands.

I chopped off the original mounts and just fabbed some up quick like out of some plate steel that was laying around. It was a solid afternoon project. So to recap, you take a few inches off the front, chop the original brackets and fab your own, weld and drill and Bob's your uncle.
