Nice 4Runner for Sale in PA

I'm not a huge fan of black, but I am seriously thinking about bidding on this truck. Having never bought a car on ebay before, I worry that I get all the way to PA just to find there is a huge problem with the vehicle...what do you do then? Anybody nearby there that can go check it out for me?

If you don't like black I know you'll hate that black sport hood. Let me know if you buy it I'll take that sucker off there for ya
 
Funny Miller...I'll keep that in mind...I like black on clean cars, but that's the whole problem with that color! It's clean for about 5 minutes after you wash it then its back to dirty...I've had a couple of black cars and they are just hard to keep looking clean.

On a side note, how does one tell if this one is the highlander version? I'm about to email the guy to see if he has more pictures of the underneath...it looked like there was some rust in that spare tire picture...
 
Everything looks right for the Highlander options except the front bumper. I think the bumper was replaced which would match the vehicle history accident report. The front bumper should be painted black and you can see in 1 of the pics that it is an aftermarket bumper.

I dont really know how much it was bought for, but if you look at the autocheck on the ebay page, the most recent log in was in Dec 09 at an auction. My truck is an auction truck and besides the bumper, it had no different problems than your truck.

I emailed the guy about getting underneath pics. He emailed me back saying "thank yuo, no rust the car is in very good shape underneath, nothing chpping off just normal wear and surface rust dust."

What do you think? I can call the guy...his number is on the auction page. Just wish I had somebody in Philly that could go take a quick look at it!
 
Looked a little more than just "surface rust" I would take my bids to 5500. Would drive to the guy with cash and see the truck myself before making any kind of payment. 5500 > ebay rating. I would also test drive and have the truck inspected by a mechanic before making any payment.

No way in hell, my truck is rusted and there is nothing more than surface rust, i had a rotted/rusted out car, this 4Runner has surface rust. Fonerunner, if you want me to send you pics of my underside i will, it will look very similar to the 99.
 
I wish that was closer to me. That's my dream 4Runner. 5spd, 4WD and no chrome. Too bad that was not available in Canada. :(
 
Coincidentally, I live in ATL but am home in PA, about an hour away from Philly until Tuesday afternoon. If you are serious, I can go look at it for you.
