Hey Team (yes I need help),
Since alot of the snow has melted I decided to take a quick run through the automatic car wash to clean off some winter salt. Instantly regret this descision.
(1)Right afterwards there is a bad squeek that changes pace with the RPM including when I rev it in park. I figure the serpentine belt or the alternator belt (according to pops) may be the problem.
(Q1)We have gone from -40 celcius to +10 celcius this month (fort mcmurray) and the power wash probably blew dirt into something. Figured it may work itself out, but will it hurt anything and even if not what can you clean or oil to make it stop as it's embarassingly loud.
(2)After I figure no big deal I drive out of the gas station and go to stop at the light when I get my second fun noise. Describing noises in text sucks but it was like sticking your tongue out and blowing at average speed... loud enough to scare the **** out of you. The braking seemed to pulse at the same rate and happened twice and not again.
(Q2)It felt more or less like the brake pads slipping on the rotor and that makes sense with some soap left on the brakes possibly, so has that ever happened to anyone? However, my brake pedal has depressed further than I like since I changed the front calipers (leaked, fixed myself thanks to this forum) as I probably didn't bleed them well enough but I never did get around to bleeding them again in -30 weather and no garage. But now it feels like the brakes are alot tighter and the pedal doesn't go down as far. So is there a valve in the master cylinder that the air may have finally worked itself to and left in a rather loud fasion? Or I may have imagined the change in breaking due to my onset of noise paranoia.
