Nitrous Enterprises Warnings - Thread #2

I'm posting this in a new thread because the other thread was, for some reason, closed. Moderators - obviously you can do what you want with your site. However, there are VERY serious safety issues involved. This issue isn't over and there is still new information coming to light. Since you allow NE to advertise here, and since there are safety issues involved, you probably want to either pull their plug or let a discussion thread continue. It would be very helpful, however, if all of the personal attacks could stop and people could just focus on the facts.

The facts....

This thread is a continuation of the following thread:
http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8012

That thread was prompted by this thread on another forum:
http://www.yotatech.com/showthread.php?t=49576

On the YT thread, there is new information that most, if not all, of the spacer kits have been shipped with grade 2 bolts. Grade 2 bolts SHOULD NEVER BE USED ANYWHERE ON YOUR VEHICLE. NE and everyone involved with NE will be held seriously liable if/when one of these fail. If you are using an NE spacer kit, I urge you to verify what grade the bolts are and, if they are the fence-post bolts, TAKE THEM OFF YOUR TRUCK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

This is no longer a quality issue. NE could have shipped grade 5 bolts. NE SHOULD HAVE shipped grade 5 (or better) bolts. The fact that they didn't is inexcusable.

I would recommend that anyone that is currently using any of their NE products to look over their product carefully. If you are using hardware parts that are not up to factory standard you are in a high risk danger to yourself and others around you. Please check your parts and do what is necessary to remedy the problem.

Another user has taken the first step to file a complaint. If you wish to do so, I highly recommend you file as well.

File a complaint w/:
CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission)
NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration)
State and Local Attorney General's Office

I agree with Lance and strongly urge those who have this product and found the mentioned flaws to file a complaint. It makes me want to puke to read about people scamming and taking advantage of others on forums and the internet. These folks have no souls and think they're invincible on the internet. NE seemed to have started off good, but i think they bit off more than they could chew and swallow.

Faeylyn, thanks for warning everyone. I agree that we should keep this thread open for further warnings.

Just out of curiousity, what is the price difference between a grade 2 and 5 bolt?? Could you find this at your local hardware/auto store??

Grade 2 bolts are too weak in that place? Really? I used a single grade 2 bolt on my FJ40 to mount the shock to the axles and never had a problem, even jumping at sand hill at Pismo. . Note the strengths of bolts. How big are these bolts? HOw many are there?

Clicky Clicky

All figures are in lbs.
Dia.....Sheer Thread.....Full bolt Sheer......Tensile thread root
3/8............510...................830............................410
7/16..........700.................1130............................560

If there are 4 bolts then
3/8...........2040...............3320...........................1640
7/16.........2800...............4520...........................2240

Very interesting...

I inquired about custom spacers and the sliders. Last email I received, AK was in Oakland, Ca. working on his 2nd Bachelor's and 3rd Master's degree.

:bash:

If it sounds too good to be true, move on. I remember about a year ago the person in question on this thread was a vocal, very frequent participant. Then he just disappeared under a cloud of questions. I should have stuck with my first impression then.

Just making a generalization, but it says a lot about a company that folds after something like this happens.

I don't think they were around long enough or legitimate enough to be considered a 'company'. It wasn't even a LLC, and payments went directly into the owners Paypal?

Gator,

Why was he banned?

Really, what part of the past few days did you not understand??

I guess that you're gonna wait for that product from NE for a long long time.:D

He was banned for good reasons. (Hint: see YT moderator's comments to your post on the other forum.) End of discussion.

I understand you guys may have very valid reasons. I think you should disclose why you ban anyone on this board though. Most other boards I have been on over the last 10 years do this as a matter of public service. They have a thread where the admins post who was banned and why for full disclosure. Without disclosing this information others on the board may mistake honest reasons for banning someone with personal issues. So based on the rules why was he banned?

Usage of this forum is dependent upon acceptance of the following rules:

Rules for Toyota-4Runner.org

1. No Whining
This includes, but is not limited to, whining about other members, whining about the mods, whining about the admins, whining about the forum in general, whining about other forums, etc. Determinations on the issue of whining shall be in the sole and absolute discretion of the admins / mods.

2. No Personal Attacks
This includes, but is not limited to, name calling, racial slurs, threats, badgering, shouting (typing in ALL CAPS), etc.

3. No Rated X, R, or NC-17 Content
Please use discretion while posting.

4. No Solicitations from Businesses without Prior Permission
This includes, but is not limited to, product previews, ads, and other forms of ‘spam’ from a business. If you have an accessory to sell and want to make ONE announcement about it in the “Accessories” sub-forum that is okay. However, if you want to continue to hype your product(s) you will need to explore advertising opportunities with Toyota-4Runner.org by sending an email to [email protected]

5. No pics unrelated to the T4R
Server space is expensive - therefore this site should not be used as a free photo hosting site for pics unrelated to the T4R (e.g. pics of your dog, your wedding, your vacation to Timbuktu, your sports memorabilia collection, your Corvette, etc, unless of course there's a pic of a T4R in the shot). If you post pics unrelated to the T4R it may be deleted at the discretion of the mods/admins.

6. No Multiple Registrations
Registering under more than one username is prohibited.

7. Have a good time!
The point of this forum is for all of us, as members of a community, to learn about the 4Runner and have fun. Hopefully by following the four above guidelines we can make everyone feel welcome and comfortable.

Failure to follow the above rules can result in warnings or permanent banning from Toyota-4Runner.org.

I made the decision for several "valid reasons" - none of which I care to go into. Please read rule #1 before posting another response about why you think explanations are owed to you as a "matter of public service". Thanks :)

GG I just noticed on your avatar that your gator is messed up or drunk. It only walks with it's right leg???? :D
