But its simply not fair to encourage him...... I hate to brake it to you but do yourself a favor save your money and time, putting NOS in an SUV will not make you "one of the greatest minds in history" nor will it ever get you laid.
Save your time and money and get a car that was made to go fast in the first place!
The 4runner is an amazing vehicle because it confidently knows what it is good at and does not try to do too much.

I've never found myself wishing I had more power in any off-road situation. Better gearing, yes. But I don't think nitrous will help you get out of any ditches. In fact, it will probably have the opposite effect. That said, it could be fun storming down a dirt road or driving up a steep hill without downshifting. Whatever floats your boat.
 
I like it but I think you just gave the wrong reason... I would use it on pavement only, just to get to the next trail faster. Yeah that's it! :trophy:
 
hell IF i had more money i'd build a pro street 4runner. haters can hate but they can't hate the smell of NOS in the morning :D
 
how many of you have actually use NOS before?
im sure 99.99% of you just go by what you are reading online or what your brothers girlfriends baby sister's teachers cousin said.

2wd or 4wd the trans will hold the power, transfercase idk
the trans is the same found in many toyotas including the Supra which has been proven to take a BEAT down of power.
Now launching a 5k lbs truck is a different sorry.

i would say if the motor is healthy a 50-75 wetshot will be fine but use a A/F gauge to watch your ratio and i would do it on a dyno to verify.
start with a 35 shot and work your way up.
put a slip switch to prime the system then a activate switch on the pedal to spray at 100% only.

is this for a RZ or 5vz? either way both are iron blocks and can take a ton of power when set up properly.
1 day i would like to build a 5vz to show what she can do!
 
Like I said nos is fun and if done right it can last and no one has said to throw a 200 shot on here either, he said he wanted to use nos go little first a 35-50 shot used responsibly would work just fine
 
But he said he wanted to use it to get out of ditches and such. This generally requires throttle modulation and that does not work with nitrous. You would end up blowing up your intake manifold. I've seen it happen.

missed that part but he could still use it for a quick squirt on say a wet 35-50shot.
example on a car of ours we had 2 switches to activate the Nitrous. 1 was for full throttle pulls. the other was a sprung loaded push button on the steering wheel.
our small 1.8L couldnt bring up th emotor to 5500 ( stall) without a little help because of the sized turbo we had. With the car loaded on the transbrake ( reverse/Drive Locked) motor would load up to 200rpm then we would "kiss" the button 2-3 times to bring up the motor to 6K rpm. now if we were to hold the button at 2000 RPM you would have a nitrous backfire and blow the motor or intake manifold.
but with kisses he could be ok.
again this would have to be with a diver who can think and mutlitask.
with a 35 wet shot and keep it a little rich on the fuel fuel jet he should be alright
