I dont see much NJ activity and i find myself creeping in other threads to try to set stuff up and network. Figured maybe start our own thread so we can BS, set up small meets and help each other out.

With that said rolling out to Rausch creek on sunday if anyone is interested. Headed out with 6 rigs from south plainfield around 6am then taking 287 to 78.

Anyone wanna tag along?:eyebrows::eyebrows:

Any one down for a sunday stroll at the pine barrons? Never been but down to see if there is anything good.

Weather forecast looks a little wet, but a little rain never killed nobody!

Keep me in the loop for the next one. In south Nj, not too far.

north nj spots

Hey guys, total newB here. Hoping to pick up my 4runner real soon. I already have pages and pages of notes from this site as to what mods I'm looking to do. Is north nj really that sparse in terms of legal wheeling locations? I'd love to check out rausch a few times a year, but for a local spot, there just doesn't seem to be anything. I just keep hearing about spots that used to be good/legal, but now are closed/illegal. thanks.....

Just in case you need something to do in spring/summer:
GCLC does a week long event at Rausch/AOAA in July (July 11-15 this year), anything from stock to crazy and we added an “overland” style double overnight trip for those that don’t want to play in the rocks.
Info/Registration here: Coal Mine Cruiser Classic - Gotham City Land Cruisers

FJ northeasters does their event @ Rausch April 27-29 this year, registration isn’t open yet

hey guys,
in NNJ (Hasbrouck Heights). Have a 1998 4runner I'm about to supercharge and essentially rebuild (from a 1997 parts truck). Going to be hosting a bunch of friends to do the work on the weekend of April 6-8th. I'm pulling the good stuff off the parts truck but if anyone needs any spares or wants to help out/drink some beer, feel free to come by. After I pull the parts off the truck and take some spares myself, it's just gonna get junked so might as well offer up some stuff to the local community in exchange for expertise or wrenching help. would be nice to meet some locals.

Mines supercharged as well it's awesome.

I'm really looking forward to the upgrade. The runner is our beater/motorcycle hauler and aside from needing some serious maintenance it's been reliable, but extremely slow. With a 450lb bike on the back, it's downright scary going up hills or fast merging into traffic.

(bought it 18 months ago with 74k on it - was a Miami truck owned by an elderly gentleman who left it to sit in the sun for years without driving it. Pretty much every engine seal is shot)

Planning on reviving it for more trouble free miles:
- pull engine and do F&R main seals, oil pump, pan gasket, valve cover gaskets, timing belt, water pump. Larger OEM oil filter.
- supercharger with OBX headers (and SCE copper gaskets), magnaflow high flow cat, and possibly new exhaust
- K&N intake (from parts truck) or modded factory intake
- URD 7th system
- upgraded valve body
- 231mm Tundra brake upgrade
- 99+ headlights
- grill mod + aux LED lighting
- optima battery

Not sure of suspension route right now, but plan on replacing the shocks and maybe a 2.5-3" lift.

The body is pretty rough as the previous owner got a cheap top 1/2 paint job to "fix" faded paint and I plan on touching up the flares at least to fix the faded paint and scratches on those. The good news is that the frame is spotless.

How's it coming along?

Anyone interested in helping a brother out with some installs?

Just picked up an 02 with an RC 3" lift that Ill eventually be removing.

The truck currently needs valve cover gaskets, donut gasket, CV axle, possibly some other minor things. I mainly need assistance with the VC gaskets.

Im in Bordentown and have a garage. The truck fits, but its small lol.

South Jersey Mechanic?

Hey folks,

I haven't been in Jersey long (south jersey), and I try to do most of the work on my vehicle myself, but I'm curious if anyone here can recommend a good, fair, mechanic to take a look at my 1990 3vze 4runner? I'm in the Cherry Hill area, closer to Philly. Moving cross country again, and some expert advice/diagnosis on the old dog is probably a good idea.

Thanks!

Hi Jersey. Finally found this thread. I'm in the Morristown area. Just got a 2015 SR5 about a month ago.

Had a 05 Tacoma for 11 years and loved it. Drove a Rav4 and somehow lasted almost 2 yrs in that. Nice creature comforts but just not for me. Debated between a 4R and a Highlander and once I drove the 4R I loved it immediately.

Looking for a good shop to put a mild lift in. If you know of one in this area please let me know.
