I am new to the 4WD thing and i read the guys post who has the same problem, i just had the whole top end of my motor rebuilt and before the 4WD worked great, now it doesn't at all it shifts in but nothing happens no light no drive nothing, i was wondering where to look for the selinoid and if it is possible that a vacuem hose is disconnected or something any thing would be of help thanks

If you have gotten your engine rebuilt then it's most likely that someone forgot to plug in the ADD switch.
Look on the drivers side of the engine. You will have to take off your rock guard. There is a wire that runs out from the engine harness, and then plugs into the ADD switch on the Differential. Make sure that this plug is plugged in.
If the plug is plugged in, then try and check the plug that comes out of the ADD, start the car and put it in 4wd, and drive it back and forth a few times turning the wheels. Then leave the engine running and check the continuity of the wires that are going into the ADD. There should be continuity.
They that and see if it'll solve it.

by blowing air into the hose off the ADD unit I was able to get the axle to go from two to four wheel (front hubs locking). Blow air into the blue hose got it to lock. Tan got it out. I also took the ADD off and ran power to it and was able to confirm that the solenoids would engage when they got power. I got and ADD inicator switch at the boneyard and I am going to try that. But I suspect the problem I have is with the Tranfer Indicator switch. As I have the 5 speed transmission. Does this make any sense?
